Elands Community, Health & First Aid Centre ('The Centre')
About Us
Set in a beautiful, natural environment, The Centre is peaceful and private. It is often used for short term and emergency accommodation, at very reasonable rates. A fully operational kitchen, bathroom, in-door toilet, office, massage and first aid rooms, and a large open space, carpeted, with a library and video viewing, are included in these resources. It is well maintained by a volunteer committee, who annually fundraise to cover operating costs.

A Vision for Conscious Community
We see a world where groups and circles of people gather together regularly to support one another in the creation of whatever their individual dreams are; where people easily align with each other because everyone wants only for the highest good of all and everyone else; and where the people are socialising, sharing food, playing, and having fun when they come together.
We see communities popping up everywhere with high creative ideals; where new ideas, inventions, arts, handicrafts, technological and recreational projects abound; and where the people are loving what they do because they are doing what they love.
And we see communities frequently devoting time together for the sacred aspects of life; where they remember to create a spiritual environment that makes it easy for everyone in the community to experience Oneness.
Possible Doula training workshop and ante-natal classes coming to the Centre in 2012 Margret (aka Santo) who used to live (and deliver!!) in Elands has offered to come and teach a doula course at The Centre (if people are interested!).The course is 40 hours face-to-face teaching. The course is 40 hours face-to-face teaching (this includes marking, mentoring, text & workbooks, and being available for debriefing for 12 months). The information Santo provides, has been designed specifically for people wanting to become Doulas. She is in the process of receiving government accreditation for the course meaning people may be entitled to centrelink assistance. She also offers Childbirth classes (12 hour course over days). The classes are more informative than hospital birth classes, having a focus on natural birth and clarify how to detect some of the signs that appear when things are not going as planned. We are aiming to run the courses in April. For the doula course to run we need a min. of three more people. The website for the doula course is: http://www.indigenousaustralia-traditionalbirthingcollege.com/ Santo can be contacted on: 6621 4131 or 0412 725 353
Past events: Filmnight: Thrive
Thanks to those who helped to organise the recent filmnight. If you would like to organise a screening locally Contact us , or perhaps you would like to write a review of the film. Thrive is a full expose of the banking system and its corruption and control over our lives. Whilst it reveals the worst, it also offers alternatives and to be informed, is to be empowered.
